Louisbourg’s well-preserved 18th-century fortress is a National Historic Site and allows visitors to experience French colonial life, from firing a cannon to tasting rum. Cap aux Meules is the gateway to the Magdalen Islands, an archipelago in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
