Galapagos Tortoise

For those interested in visiting the Galapagos Islands, you’ll have most likely heard of the Galapagos Tortoise. These iconic animals are native to the Galapagos Islands and can live to be over 100 years old. They can be up to 1.2 metres long and even exceed an impressive 250kg. The tortoises even played a pivotal role in Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution during his visit to the Galapagos.

They migrate between the lowlands and highlands throughout the year and will be seen grazing and resting in the grass or mud.
