Grey Seal

Britain has one of the largest grey seal populations in the world, particularly around Scotland, more specifically the Hebrides, Orkney & Shetland and the Farne Islands off the coast of Northumberland. You’re most likely to spot these furry creatures on a Zodiac cruise, where they will regularly haul themselves out in large numbers across rocks and beaches. Pupping season for grey seals takes place during the late autumn and early winter months, where they are the most active and photogenic, although they are present year-round. You may even spot some curious ones swimming in the waters around the Zodiac on your excursion if you’re lucky.
