Narwhal

Narwhals are truly spectacular species to behold and can be seen around the region of the Canadian Arctic and Greenland on an expedition cruise if you’re lucky enough. These elusive animals are also known as the ‘unicorn of the seas’ due to their spiral tusk, which is actually an elongated tooth. These are rare to spot on an expedition cruise, so it’s an exhilarating experience to have the opportunity of spotting one. The best chance of seeing a Narwhal is off the coast of East Greenland around Scoresby Sound or in the region of the high Canadian Arctic, and on the very rare occasion, in Svalbard.
